Pizzeria Corvina

This weekend John and I ate at Pizzeria Corvina, a new restaurant in the same shopping complex as Target, Best Buy and Jason's Deli, and it was phenomenal. They specialize in coal-fired pizza, but they also have homemade pasta. I got the pizza and John got some pasta and we both loved ours. We also got the polenta appetizer and it was amazing as well. They have appetizer specials from 3pm to 7pm Mon through Fri. You can even order smores there. We ran out of time before we could get dessert, but we will definitely be checking those out next time we go. You can check out their website for the menu with prices www.pizzeriacorvina.com.

So imagine my excitement when I found out that through Restaurant.com you can order $25 Pizzeria Corvina gift certificates for just $2 today through Thursday. I have seen these kind of specials before on restaurant.com, but they never offered them for any restaurants I was interested in. Now you do have to spend $35 in order to use the certificates, but still that is $35 worth of food for just $12. Not too shabby. You also can only use one certificate per month per party. Still though totally worth it, because the gift certificates are good for a year. Anyway so go to restaurants.com and search by zip code and then once you have put the certificates in your cart, use the code DISH to get them for $2 each instead of $10. You print the certificates off online so as soon as you order them you can use them.

So even if you dont get the gift certificates you should definitely check it out. Let me know if you love it as much as we did!

A&W Free Rootbeer Floats

A&W is giving away free small rootbeer floats tomorrow from 2pm-8pm in honor of their 90th anniversary. Pretty sweet!

Lets trade!

I have a years supply of toothpaste you can even choose between brands because we're not picky A years supply of deodorant for her. A ton of lotion. Ecotrin head ace medicine. Lots of other great health and beauty items. I need a twin sized mattress. Ivy has started sleeping on the box spring because there are springs sticking out of her mattress. I don't care about brand or age. I just need something to support her petite self when she is sleeping. At the moment she is going through a stuffed animal mountain face so she is quite comfy on the box spring but lets face it, it not really a great solution. So if anyone would like to trade I think I can make it worth your while.

Mediterranean House Buffet

There is a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean Buffet that opened up in Pflugerville in January and it is amazing. John and I noticed it the other day and decided to stop by and we loved it. I studied in Jordan and Egypt and am always on the lookout for good Middle Eastern food and this is the place. We got the dinner buffet, which was $9.95 a person and well worth it. There were tons of meat dishes to choose from and also lots of salads and of course pitas and different spreads. It also included some amazing dessert along the lines of Baklava. Kids under 5 eat for free and there is a reduced price for kids 5-12 but I can't remember what it was. The owner also said that if you bring in a group of 5 or more, I assume over the age of 12, then it is just $7.95 a person. There is also a regular menu if you aren't up for the buffet. The owners are from Jordan (a land of amazing food and great people) and they were so friendly. They had a tv set up in the back were their son was playing video games and they let EZ play back there with him (don't worry we could see him at all times) which made it much easier for us to enjoy our dinner. It was pretty empty when we were there so I wanted to spread the word and help them out. When you walk in don't let the decor fool you, it may not seem fancy, but trust me it is authentic Middle Eastern. So definitely check it out and if you want some dining companions John and I will be going back regularly! The address and phone number are:

Free 13" Sylvania TV/VCR

We have a 13" Sylvania TV/VCR that we were going to post for free on craiglist today, but figured we'd offer it to friends in the ward first. The 13" color TV works fine, but the VCR tugs on tapes sometimes, so you might want to be careful, there. Come get it if you're interested, but email first. :-)

Free Burt's Bees

"This year Burt's Bees celebrates its 25th anniversary, which is pretty impressive -- I had no idea they'd been around that long. To celebrate, the Earth-loving company is giving away a bunch of free stuff, starting with 25,000 tubes of lip balm. Each day through June 20, the company is offering 1,000 free Beeswax Lip Balms online. Today's stash is already gone, but you should bookmark this page for a chance to win. The contest starts sometime between 9 a.m. and noon ET, but it changes each day -- you have to keep checking the site. (Very clever, Burt.)Other anniversary features include celebrity "toasts" from the likes of Adam Duritz, Jane Lynch, Billy Bob Thornton and others. And hey, here's a real-life fact about Burt (the bearded dude on the package): He retired in 1999 and now lives in Maine "in a converted turkey coop with Pasha, his loyal golden retriever." And I bet he smells like honey."
