Band Hero for Wii
Our mistake could be your advantage! We made the mistake of buying and opening “Band Hero” only to realize it’s really outside our family’s needs and wants right now. it comes with the drums, guitar, mike, and game for a Wii. It costs 172, but we’re willing to sell it for 150. It’s brand new, repacked into it’s box, only used for a test run, everything works perfectly. If no one seems interested in it then we’ll try to sell it on Craigs list. if you are interested call me at 415-3067. Thanks!

Free Food at Ikea
Today through Sunday January 3rd you can get free breakfast for the family at Ikea from opening till 11am. This includes eggs bacon and hashbrown type potatoes and also a cup of coffee, which maybe you could dump out and fill with juice instead. Don't quote me on that though. Then if you are there later the kiddies eat free from 11am to close with no adult purchase! As mentioned on an earlier post, we love Ikea and will definitely be taking advantage of this.

Two FREE Weekend activities:

Lowe's
Saturday morning at Lowes they have the Build and Grow workshop at 10am.Tomorrow is the gingerbread house and next saturday is the ornaments. My kids love these workshops. I know they say you can register online, but we just usually show up early and I have never seen anyone checking in so I don't think that this will necessarily save you a spot. They also get an apron and a patch showing what they made. They say they only have 50 kits so get there early!
Michaels
I saw this one for Michaels online, but we have never been. Make-It Take-Its looks like it would be fun, but I am sure just like at Lowes there are a set amount of kits, so get there early.

Ikea Swedish Meatball Dinner
My family loves the meatballs at Ikea and right now they have a really sweet deal going on. You can get:
1 bag/2.5 pounds of meatballs
2 packs/8 each of potato fritters
2 packs of cream sauce
1 jar of lingonberry jam
All for just $8.57 instead of the usual $17.14 and that is the total including tax! You just buy it at the cafe by the exit. I picked it up today and it is a lot of meatballs, especially for our small family. The deal goes through December 4th so I think we will definitely be hitting this up again.

Halloween Costume Help
I really like Nikki's idea about swapping Halloween stuff. This year EZ wants to be Diego and I am still trying to see if I can piece the costume together myself without buying one of the over priced ones or resorting to sewing one, which is not my strong suit. So I was wondering if anyone has a safari type vest or orange backpack we could borrow. EZ wears size 4Tish. Also I have 2 cute costumes we used last year that anyone can borrow. The first is a princess costume size 6-12 months and the second is a sweet Buzz Lightyear costume which is a 2-3T. Thanks

Another Plug for Couponing
I went to Target today and got some great deals! I want to put in a plug for using coupons because at Target you can get $.25 Chex Mix and $.58 deodorant and body spray. All the details for these can be found at hip2save.blogspot.com or at savingwithshellie.com. On both sites you can click on Target off to the right and scroll down until you find the deals you want. Halloween Costume Swap
Hey, Sisters. Have an old costume you would be willing to lend to another child for Halloween this month? If so, post a photo or description of it on the blog. Costumes can get pretty pricey, so let's help each other out by swapping out costumes. Nikki Workman has some costumes she willing to let someone borrow this month shown on the photo attached. Contact Nikki at kiatone_nuba@yahoo.com if interested. Nikki also would like to know if someone has a yellow shirt and black pants size 9-12 months that she can borrow for her sons costume. Let her know if you can help out.

Music Class
I was looking for a music class to take my son to, and then I realized that I should just start my own and invite some friends to join us! Just a quick background, I have taught children's music classes for almost 10 years. I would be teaching the same curriculum here, although slightly altered for a more casual home environment. The class will be for babies/toddlers 9-18 months and their moms. We will meet Thursday mornings from 10:30-11am in my home. The cost would be $10 a month to help cover expenses. Please call (512-850-1628) or email (abby.fife@gmail.com) if you would like to join, or if you have any other questions. Class starts on September 24th.

Halloween boy costumes
Hey, I'm cleaning out my boys' closet and have two Halloween costumes that my boys have grown out of. I bought them at the Disney Store on clearance a couple of years ago. There is a small tear on the knee of the power ranger outfit, but other than that they are in good condition. The power ranger costume is a size medium and the buzz lightyear costume is extra small. My boys only wore them one year before growing out of them. They're free for anyone who wants them. Email me if you want them at egibby@att.net

Mens Bike Needed
Hello! Yesterday our car engine died and we are having to get a new one put in....good times. Anyways, we were wondering if anyone is getting rid of a mens bike or knows someone who is. I am trying to avoid buying a cheap Wal-Mart bike to get Christopher to and from work for the next couple weeks until the car is fixed. Thanks!
Girls Drapes
I changed the curtains in Kelsey room a couple of weeks ago. So, does anyone want some girls drapes? I have white sheers that have embroidered flowers on them in pastel colors. I also have light pink checked valances. Let me know if you'd like them!!
Cheap Cereal
Until Tuesday HEB has Cocoa Puffs and Trix for $1.00. You can go to coupons.com and get a $.55 off Trix coupon and $1.00 off 2 General Mills cereals that you can use for the Cocoa Puffs. This would make the Trix $.45 and the Cocoa Puffs $.50. You should be able to print two each of these coupons from each computer in your home! Happy Saving! Also there are some good cereal deals at Randall's right now (like Cheerios for $1.00 with coupons when you buy five boxes of cereal and Kix for $.75). Check out Savingwithshellie.com and she'll tell you how to get cheap cereal. Click on Safeway/Randall's on the right and scroll down until you find the cereal deal. Both of these deals will expire on Tuesday.

Hey ladies: I've been hauling a lot of stuff to Goodwill lately (cleaning out for the move)... it's amazing how much stuff we accumulate.
Before I go buy these items we need, I thought I'd ask if anyone has extras lying around they want to get rid of. Here's what I'm looking for:
*computer mouse (USB connection)
*computer speaker (ours died for the kids computer)
*small stereo speakers (we have a massive one from 1970) :-)
Thanks ladies!

Bowling Follow Up
So I took my niece and EZ bowling at interstate lanes on Saturday and it was awesome. They pretty much have free lanes all day everyday and you dont have to print off the bowling coupon like I thought. You can just go in and they will give you a punch card type thing. Also the shoe rental is $1.50 for kids 12 and under and $3.00 for adults, not $1.50 for everyone like I thought when I posted last time. Still totally worth it though.

Free Bowling at Interstate Lanes
I recently found out that Interstate Lanes on 35 in Round Rock has their own summer free bowling for kids program. Any school age kid K-12 can print off a bowling pass at their website and use it for 1 free game everyday. It says during "open bowling" and I couldn't tell for sure on the website when that is exactly so you would have to call and check. The best part is that shoe rental there is only $1.50 so this is definitely a better deal then driving down to that 300 place. The website is interstatelanes.net.

Get paid for plasma donation
BioLife Plasma (www.biolifeplasma.com) will pay anywhere from $55 to $85 a week for plasma.
You can make 2 visits every 7 days. The first visit they pay $20 ($30 on a priority day). You can go again 2 days later and then they pay the rest. Right now the program is running based on a month. The first week will get you $55, the second $65, and the third and fourth weeks will pay $75, plus $10 extra if it's priority day. They will give you a debit card that they credit every time you donate.
A note. If your first visit is on a Wednesday then you can't come the next week for your first visit until Wednesday, because you can't have more than 2 visits in 7 days. So I recommend getting in on a Monday for your first visit then your second one can be anytime from Wed. to Sat.
Each visit takes about 45 minutes to an hour and a half. It just depends on how fast your blood pumps through, which is more about how much water you drank in the last 24 hours. They have a great childcare room. I take my 2 little girls (2 and 4) and they play with dolls, the pretend kitchen, watch movies, color, and paint. Two sweet little old ladies work in there and the girls love them now.
You will need to call and schedule a first visit/physical and donation. The physical isn't really a physical it's a lot of questions about your health and whether you do anything (tattoos, drugs, etc.) that would make your plasma unusable. Once that's finished (about an hour) you can go donate (about another hour). The first 2 visits you have to call and schedule, after that you can do it all online.
So if you're looking for away to make a little extra money, this is a great way to do it for only a couple hours a week.
If you have questions, let me know.

Pizzeria Corvina
This weekend John and I ate at Pizzeria Corvina, a new restaurant in the same shopping complex as Target, Best Buy and Jason's Deli, and it was phenomenal. They specialize in coal-fired pizza, but they also have homemade pasta. I got the pizza and John got some pasta and we both loved ours. We also got the polenta appetizer and it was amazing as well. They have appetizer specials from 3pm to 7pm Mon through Fri. You can even order smores there. We ran out of time before we could get dessert, but we will definitely be checking those out next time we go. You can check out their website for the menu with prices www.pizzeriacorvina.com.
So imagine my excitement when I found out that through Restaurant.com you can order $25 Pizzeria Corvina gift certificates for just $2 today through Thursday. I have seen these kind of specials before on restaurant.com, but they never offered them for any restaurants I was interested in. Now you do have to spend $35 in order to use the certificates, but still that is $35 worth of food for just $12. Not too shabby. You also can only use one certificate per month per party. Still though totally worth it, because the gift certificates are good for a year. Anyway so go to restaurants.com and search by zip code and then once you have put the certificates in your cart, use the code DISH to get them for $2 each instead of $10. You print the certificates off online so as soon as you order them you can use them.
So even if you dont get the gift certificates you should definitely check it out. Let me know if you love it as much as we did!

A&W Free Rootbeer Floats
A&W is giving away free small rootbeer floats tomorrow from 2pm-8pm in honor of their 90th anniversary. Pretty sweet!
Lets trade!
I have a years supply of toothpaste you can even choose between brands because we're not picky A years supply of deodorant for her. A ton of lotion. Ecotrin head ace medicine. Lots of other great health and beauty items. I need a twin sized mattress. Ivy has started sleeping on the box spring because there are springs sticking out of her mattress. I don't care about brand or age. I just need something to support her petite self when she is sleeping. At the moment she is going through a stuffed animal mountain face so she is quite comfy on the box spring but lets face it, it not really a great solution. So if anyone would like to trade I think I can make it worth your while.

Mediterranean House Buffet
There is a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean Buffet that opened up in Pflugerville in January and it is amazing. John and I noticed it the other day and decided to stop by and we loved it. I studied in Jordan and Egypt and am always on the lookout for good Middle Eastern food and this is the place. We got the dinner buffet, which was $9.95 a person and well worth it. There were tons of meat dishes to choose from and also lots of salads and of course pitas and different spreads. It also included some amazing dessert along the lines of Baklava. Kids under 5 eat for free and there is a reduced price for kids 5-12 but I can't remember what it was. The owner also said that if you bring in a group of 5 or more, I assume over the age of 12, then it is just $7.95 a person. There is also a regular menu if you aren't up for the buffet. The owners are from Jordan (a land of amazing food and great people) and they were so friendly. They had a tv set up in the back were their son was playing video games and they let EZ play back there with him (don't worry we could see him at all times) which made it much easier for us to enjoy our dinner. It was pretty empty when we were there so I wanted to spread the word and help them out. When you walk in don't let the decor fool you, it may not seem fancy, but trust me it is authentic Middle Eastern. So definitely check it out and if you want some dining companions John and I will be going back regularly! The address and phone number are:

Free 13" Sylvania TV/VCR
We have a 13" Sylvania TV/VCR that we were going to post for free on craiglist today, but figured we'd offer it to friends in the ward first. The 13" color TV works fine, but the VCR tugs on tapes sometimes, so you might want to be careful, there. Come get it if you're interested, but email first. :-)

Free Burt's Bees
"This year Burt's Bees celebrates its 25th anniversary, which is pretty impressive -- I had no idea they'd been around that long. To celebrate, the Earth-loving company is giving away a bunch of free stuff, starting with 25,000 tubes of lip balm. Each day through June 20, the company is offering 1,000 free Beeswax Lip Balms online. Today's stash is already gone, but you should bookmark this page for a chance to win. The contest starts sometime between 9 a.m. and noon ET, but it changes each day -- you have to keep checking the site. (Very clever, Burt.)Other anniversary features include celebrity "toasts" from the likes of Adam Duritz, Jane Lynch, Billy Bob Thornton and others. And hey, here's a real-life fact about Burt (the bearded dude on the package): He retired in 1999 and now lives in Maine "in a converted turkey coop with Pasha, his loyal golden retriever." And I bet he smells like honey."

Yogurt r' Rock
If you haven't already checked out Yogurt r' Rock in La Frontera, you need to. It is one of the self serve yogurt places that are popping up allover the place. Basically you go in, grab a container and pick from about 10 flavor that rotate every so often and then pick whatever toppings you want (tons of fruit and goodies to choose from). You pay by the ounce and this place is $.39 an ounce, which is cheaper then the place I went to by UT. I got a good size serving with plenty of toppings and only paid $3.00. It is really really good and even pretty good for you (depending what toppings you choose haha). So yeah if you haven't checked it out already you should. It is by Men's Warehouse and the kid hair cut place. The actual address is:
2711 La Frontera Blvd #230
Round Rock, TX 78681

Free Dining Hutch
Colette McCullough has some friends who are giving away this shelving unit. They live in Taylor and want someone to pick it up it up asap. It is really a dining room hutch and is two separate pieces where one sits on top of the other. It has two glass doors, which aren't in the pictures. The dimensions are: 3'x1'7"x3'11.5" They're currently using it as storage/shelving in their garage, but it might look nice painted with new handles in a dining room.

Ranch Dressing
Today Mike and I were talking about how we needed to make sure we had Ranch dressing (and lots of it) in our food storage because we have a couple of kids who would drink it if we let them. Well, I was at HEB just now and struck gold. Kraft dressing (16 oz) is on sale for $1.99 (not the gold part yet!!). But with it there was a $1.50 off Kraft Ranch--yeah...that's $.49 each! Yippie! So I stocked up. This was in the produce section of the Gattis one but it's probably at the others too, somewhere! Hurry the deal ends on the 21st!

More Artscow.com Deals
After Jeri posted about Artscow I decided to check it out and right now when you sign up for a new member ship you get 600 free 4x6 prints and 600 5x7 prints over the course of the next year. You can use up to 100 4x6 and 50 5x7 per month. I am a slacker and usually wait till the end of each year to print pictures. Last time I printed using Sam's club mail order it was about $85 for 600ish prints. With Artscow it will only cast about $40. Not too shabby. Also with a new membership you get an 8" x 8" Custom Imagewrap Hardcover Photo Book (20 pages) for $6.99 with free shipping. I am really excited about that. I don't know how long this will last so you should check it out!

Home Storage Center Now Open
The Austin Home Storage Center is now open. The hours of operation are Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The address is:
3912 Gattis School Road, Round Rock, Texas 78664
Office Phone: 512-252-2177
Office FAX: 512-252-8311
Linda and Dave Ellefson are the service missionaries in charge of the Home Storage Center.
Patrons who are interested in purchasing materials from the Center are encouraged to download a copy from the web site, www.providentliving.org, and plan their order before visiting the Center. These forms will also be available at the Center.
At this time, it will not be possible to dry-pack products on-site at the Center. However, both a can sealer and a pouch sealer are available for loan. These will be loaned out for no more than a week at a time. Since these two pieces of equipment are key items, the Center management wants to insure that the sealers are available as much as possible and would encourage their return to the Home Storage Center on the next day the Center is open once the sealing project has been completed by the Patron.
Patrons are expected to fill their own orders and load their own vehicles. Bulk supplies can weigh as much as 40 pounds per container. The pouch sealer with case weighs 60 pounds, and the can sealer weighs 40 pounds. Patrons who are buying bulk items should either be able to lift these weights or have others with them who can when visiting the Center.
The Center cannot accept debit or credit cards. Materials and products need to be paid for by cash or check at the time they are picked up at the Center. The ability to make change at the cash register will be limited, so patrons should come with exact change if at possible. This is another reason Patrons should be well familiar with the current product and price list prior to visiting the Center.
Contact our home preparedness specialists Jeri Ashford and Marie Tidwell with any questions you may have.

Free Samples
Free Samples Website
I came across this website and it looks pretty good. According to other bloggers it is awesome for free samples of all sorts, they add a new one every day. Apparently, they don't make you fill out any type of surveys or gimics. You can sign up to the newsletter as well to get the free samples e-mailed to you, but it is not required.
I haven't used them yet so PROCEED WITH CAUTION....you might want to use an email address other than your normal one. I normally use a gmail account but have a yahoo one that I use for online stuff like this so my regular account doesn't get inundated with spam. :-)http://www.sampleaday.com/

Super Target
Okay, there are some good (great) deals at target right now. Go to coupon.com and find the coupons for Target. They may be on the Target site as well. Get the $1 off Goldfish crackers (you can print as many as you like), then go to Target and buy them, they are on sale for $1. Yeah--free! Also there is a coupon for $1 off broccoli and it is on sale for $1--but they were out of it today and will get a shipment later this week. Happy shopping--or getting things for free!
Super Target
I went today to check out the new Super Target in Pflugerville and it is pretty dang sweet. I can't even list all the deals that they have but you probably got the advertisement and there are way more than just that. I definitely recommend checking it out and doing some grocery shopping. I used the 5 dollar coupon I got in the mail and then they gave me another for $5 off of $75. Not a screaming deal but hey I liked what I saw there and I can always use an extra $5.

Cheap Movie Night!!!!
Just in case you hadn't heard, but Monday nights is 50cent night at the RR movies 8. That's right! 50 cents a ticket! Yeah, they will soon be out on video, but when I can take my family to the movies for $2, that is less than it costs to rent! (have to buy 4 or more tickets - we even met another couple after kids were in bed for a date night - have to love having a teenager at home for something!!!!) Even their normal $2 ticket price is affordable. it has certainly helped to meet even my movie addict husbands needs in a close budgeted world! Now if they would just drop those food prices :-). But who says you have to have the large tub of popcorn and drink to enjoy the movie... if I can convince Brian then you could too... I promise you will survive (tee hee!). and you can even turn it into a family night lesson - Wall-E: recycling/taking care of the planet, Bolt - service, loving others, etc. Maybe we will see you there some time.
BTW.... Twilight is there now :-)

Space Saver High Chair
Hello,
I have a highchair to get rid of. It straps onto a kitchen chair. Great shape. If no one wants it, I will take it to goodwill. I thought I would ask first.

Stay-at-Home Jobs
Hey, sisters. Many of you have expressed interest in finding work preferably from home. This can be tricky since there are many scams for at home work, but a website that specializes in finding job openings that are legit was listed on the Austin Area Stakes LDS employment list serve . The site is
http://www.ratracerebellion.com/
You can sign up to receive a weekly newsletter with the latest stay-at-home jobs. The site screens companies for scams before they post their job openings. I would still encourage everyone to read the article about identifying scams before you start applying for work. It's listed on the menu options on the left hand column of the website. The site has plenty of information on different types of stay-at-home jobs, so it's great for researching. I am really impressed with the website. I have done freelance work in the past, and know how difficult it is to find work from legitimate companies. Also, if you wish to be a part of the LDS employment list serve, go to this site to sign up.
http://groups.google.com/group/ausldsemp?hl=en
Jobs around town are listed on there frequently and you can also post job openings to share with others. They also post when career workshops are happening.

Big Consignment Event at Dell Diamond
Check out fairytalethreads.com. At the Dell Diamond on Feb 20th and 21st there will be a huge consignment sale. I think you can still sell things too. Looks like you have to have 15 things or a combined sale price of at least $100 to be a seller and they have really straight forward instructions on the website. You get 65% of the sale price or if you volunteer to work it you get 80% and get to pre-shop. Looks like they charge $10 per seller and take it out of the check they send you once the sale is over. Anyone ever done something like this before?
